I've become addicted to webcomics within the last few months. It's a really fun and entertaining form of art. Here are some of my favorites. Check them out!
Sheldon by Dave Kellett: a very cute and extremely witty cartoon about a 10 year old genius named Sheldon who owns his own software company, his Grandpa, a talking Duck named Arthur, a lizard named Flaco, and a pug named Oso. Filled with geeky pop culture references and just plain silliness. you don't necesarily need to read it all the way through to enjoy it but i highly recommend it. updated daily.
Real Life by Greg Dean: This comic is loosely based on the author's real life events, with very unrealistic plotlines thrown in from time to time. Filled with gaming references usually way beyond my realm of understanding, but funny as heck nonetheless. pretty continuous plotline. updated every weekday.
Gunnerkrigg Court by Tom Siddell: this comic is somewhat darker with amazing illustrations. about a girl whose mother died and father has gone missing. she lives at a school called gunnerkrigg court that seems to mix science with the supernatural. can be somewhat odd but very witty and makes for a good read. continuous plotline. updated MWF.
Bardsworth by Peter Tarkulich: about a college aged guy who stumbles upon a magical land in his closet and starts going to the wizarding school, Bardsworth. Magic, evil plots, romance and humour abound. continuous plotline. updated MWF.
F Chords by Kris Straub: features two guys in Austin, TX who work in a studio recording commercial jingles and aspire to make it big as musicians. half the time i don't get the musical references but pretty darn funny anyway. pretty continuous plotline. currently on hiatus as the author is spending time on his other webcomics, but hopefully it will be updated sometime in the near future. gives you time to catch up though.
One Swoop Fell by Mike Dutton: very cute comic about a bear who rescues a bird who has fallen from it's tree. they are currently trying to get back to Swoop's tree and are being pursued by some bad guys. beautiful illustrations. continuous plotline. updated about once a week.
Starslip Crisis by Kris Straub: futuristic sci-fi comic about a warship that has been converted into a starship museum. featuring a curator, pilot, and strange alien creature. continuous plotline. updated every weekday.
Evil Inc. by Brad Guigar: Evil Incorporated is a business run by supervillains. This comic is full of wonderfully cheesy puns. Continuous plotline. Updated Mon-Sat.
Phables by Brad Guigar: This is a great comic strip that tells a different story about a person's experience in Phillidelphia each week. Lots of small text that's hard on the eyes but a fun read. Unfortunately this comic ended September 2008.
A Chipmunk and a Lizard by Jon and Howard: a comic about a chipmunk and a lizard sitting on a rock, talking. occasionally another creature will show up. almost all the creatures wear masks. very very odd. very very random. somehow intriguing and pretty funny.
Whubble by Jamie Smart: a British comic about a cat named Whubble who works at a business with other animals. very random, but funny.
Schoolhouse Daze by Mike Ciccotello: a comic about four "kids" (a giraffe, an elephant, a pig and a squirrel) who attend a school taught by a rat. cute and funny.
Honorable Mentions (cartoons that look good but i haven't had a lot of time to invest in reading them extensively):
Ugly Hill by Paul Southworth
Small WonderLackadaisy by Tracy J Butler
Calamaties of Nature by Tony Piro
Bug and Worm by Allen B Moore
